What I would tell them is that business was running slow with the development of supplies.So I decide to get slaves so that the work would go a lot more quicker than it has been going.
if i was a southern plantation owner i will tell my son or daughter if he or she asked me why i held slaves is because we need help with the farmering and they was here to help us plant your crops.
If I were a slave owner and i had to tell my children the reason why I have the slaves will be because I needed help around the house and on the plantation.
