The British were right in trying to keep control of the colonists because they did not want to start conflict with other native American tribes.

The British were right in trying to keep control in the colonies with various acts and taxes because the government was in debt from the French and Indian War, that the colonist started. The government was low on guns, bullets, and other things like that, so they taxed the colonist on pretty much everything.

The British was right because they didn't want the colonies to have conflict with the indians. The acts that were passed was to prevent the colonist to move west where the Indians live.

They were right because if the british were not in control all of the colonies then when all the various acts were put in place they would leave the colonies mad and they would cause riots and destroy a lot of things and british would not be able to stop them.

Since the colonists went to America, the British were not able to control them, so they made various acts and taxes. Also they are part of Britian.

The British were trying to to control the the colonies so that the people wouldn't leave their colony. One reason to support this is because the British needed people to fight for their colony.

The british were right in trying to control in the colonies. They were trying to avoid conflict with the Native Americans. The british didn't want to have a war with them because wars cost money.

Myka H. said...

I think they were right because they were in war,at that time and the British paid for the weapons in the war. The British were going to need money back. I don't think they should have taxed as much as they did.

Arnae J said...

Thats because people were starting to do bad things like starting mobs and dumping tea and just going wild so they had to fix that by lowering taxes.

Eyionna l said...

Because they didnt to lose their land or get taken over people was becoming powerful so they can keep their land and stuff.

Jayda n said...

They need more money so they can bhy land and the did it so there will be no conflict

The British were right in trying to keep control in the colonies because maybe they were trying to keep colonists in control, maybe they wanted them to keep them under a little control. They might not of realized how bad they treated them when really they were just trying to have some rules.

Maria K. said...

The British were right in trying to control the colonies with taxes and acts because they thought that the colonists would not rebel aginst them, so they made them follow many rules.

Trey S. said...

They were trying to keep the colonies under control. They were doing this because they were in debt because of the wars they faught in. So with that being said, they taxed the colonist to make more money to be out of debt.

Darinda R said...

cause the enviroment and the society would have change and the british would have no control of the colonies anymore and the colonies would not have followed the laws

Jon.B said...

the British were right because they kept the colonies in control and they got more money and if they kept they colonists from moving west they kept them from having more fights with the native Americans witch keep them from sending more troops over to the colonies to protect them.

Nathan G. said...

With taxing the colonies they were trying to keep control of the colonies. They also tried to send soldiers over there but that made the colonist very mad so they started to protest.

Devin W. said...

The only reason the British had a right to tax the colonist was because they need money from the French and Indian war. They didn't let the colonist past the mountains because they couldn't have conflict between the Native Americans and them. Another reason was because they were losing there tax money to the smugglers.

triston.s said...

so they could protect there colonies with the money they tax and saves them from the native American.

Conner F. said...

They were right because they where only doing what was best for the colonies with the proclamation of 1773 was made to protect them from a new war. Not only was it saving them money and lives by not allowing them to cross the appellation mountain range. Taxing was a not so grate thing to do but it helped them to become self efficient.

The British were right in trying to keep control because the colonists wanted to fight over the taxes and acts. The colonists thought that the amount of taxes they had to pay they did'nt think it was fair. They might have been smuggling.

they were right because they were taxing on the price of tea and they were doing a good thing by controlling the coloine while other colonies did not like the right.

Jacob R. said...

It was right because they did what they wanted to do and they had the right to do it and they wanted more money

Louis G. said...

It was okay for the British to keep the colonists from moving west so they didn't get in a war with the indians. It was okay for the British to tax the colonists because they could buy things like tea, slaves, molasses, and pay for wars. It was okay for the British to search people for smuggled goods because it was against the law.

brown kyler said...

because they wanted to take control of the colonies.

Alexis,G said...

They would not have any money and alot of smuggled goods.

Megan i said...

They were right for this because if they didnt there would be more crimes .

franklin said...

because they felt like they had power. And it was okay to do that .

preston meece B(I) said...

because that they where country in need of money and also because they wanted to be in charge.

justin s said...

it was ok cause they had power to do that like when the solders was aloud to come in to peoples house and sleep cause they could. so they wouldnt let them move to west cause the british wated to make more tax.

anaiahw said...

they did what they did because they had the power to and they also felt that people were smuggling some goods into different places like great britian and the 13 colonies because way back then there WAS NOT America it was just the 13 colonies.

johnathan n said...

because the british was okay with it because they were getting money

the british was trying to keep controll in the colonies because if they didint they would not pay tax or listen to any comands they say.

Schulz, Stephen said...

I think they were trying to keep control of the colonies with this because the British needed more money. They needed it so bad that they taxed people to get money...the tax person taxed the things by pouring wax on the object and stamping it with a ring.

Thomas c said...

The colonies would be less civilized and organized. The British could also lose control of the colonies.

bleist said...

so they can still keep the claims in america without going to war

Riley B. said...

The British were right because if they didn't pass the acts that they did, then money that the government needed to use to pay people or use to build new buildings or new things, wouldn't be paid off. If they didn't pass the various acts that they did, then most people probably wouldn't get paid for working all day.

Lloyd said...

They did that so England could get money and also to show that they would always be in control.

Andre, E. said...

It gave the British more power later on. This is because the acts aloud the British to have more money from the colonists, more land to own, and taxes on different items.

cooper, nasya: said...

So they weren't to get in wars with the indians and to pay for the wars.

Marc t said...

They were right because the people were taking things and not paying taxes for them. The people were sitting here smuggling all there goods and so they avoided paying all the taxes on the goods. The british needed the taxes to help pay for everything the need and to pay military.

justn,myers said...

the British controlled the colonies so they couldent move west ward toward the Indians so another war dident start with the British

The British were right in trying to keep control in the colonies with the various acts and taxes they passed in the 1760s and the 1770s was that they didn't want the colonist to start another war if they pass the Appalachian Mt. because there were people living over there, and it would lead to another war. Which would cost the British even more money.

Zoe H. said...

The British were right , when trying to keep control in the colonies with various acts and taxes , because they wanted to get money from the colonies .

I think the british were right in trying to keep control in the colonies with the various acts and taxes they passed in the 1760s and 1770s because it held the colonies together and even though it made people angry when they forced the people in the colonies to take in soldiers but it also helped protect their homes from invaders. I still believe it was right because when they passed all those laws it helped hold the colonies together

Keyonh said...

they would have smuggled goods and not enough money.
