In the early 1800s, one technology that was invented, that helped increase productivity was the mechanical reaper. This new machine combined many of the steps involved in harvesting crops, greatly increased crop yields, decreased the number of field hands needed for the harvest, lowered costs, and revolutionized farming. This was huge for all of the people that were farmers at this time. The inventor was Cyrus Hall McCormick, he was an American inventor. His idea was patented in 1834.

The printing press was invented in the Holy Roman Empire by the German Johannes Gutenberg in around 1440, based on existing screw presses. Gutenberg, a goldsmith by profession, developed a complete printing system, which perfected the printing process through all of its stages by adapting existing technologies to printing purposes, as well as making groundbreaking inventions of his own. His newly devised hand mould made for the first time possible the precise and rapid creation of metal movable type in large quantities, a key element in the profitability of the whole printing enterprise.

The industrial Revolution occurred in the 1800. People used machines to make stuff like cloth. They used steam engines to run the machines, so the machines could make the items the people needed. This improved productivity by allowing people to increase the number of items they could make by a lot. The Industrial Revolution spread from Great Britain to all of Europe to the United States.

Productivity improving technologies date back to antiquity, with rather slow progress until the late Middle Ages.Books on science and technology eventually began to appear, such as the mining technical manual De Re Metallica.Mining and metal refining technologies played a key role in technological progress. Much of our understanding of fundamental chemistry evolved from ore smelting and refining, with De Re Metallica being the leading chemistry text for 180 years. Railroads evolved from mine carts and the first steam engines were designed specifically for pumping water from mines. i found this information on wikipedia!!

Is where I'm Getting My Information:

Sam Colt was an inventor and a businessman in the 1800s.First, he designed a new type of gun, called a revolver. It could fire many shots without being reloaded. Then, in 1855, he built a factory to produce the weapons. This factory's machines made most of the interchangeable parts needed for each gun. Each part was made exactly the same as the others of it's type.Everything fit together quickly and well. By 1856, Sam Colt's factory was making 150 guns per day.

That Is What I Found On New Technology That Improved Productivity In The 1800s.

One technology that helped improved America back then;I think is the COTTON GIN. The Cotton gin helped improve because It helped separating cotton better faster and easier. All you had to do was turn a crank. You put the cotton Into the top of the machine. Inside there was a metal roller with spikes on it. The spikes would roll over and through the cotton. They then go through another crate where the cotton seeds cannot pass through. And then the cotton comes out through the other side.

During the industrial revolution transportation skyrocketed to new measurements in society. In 1801 Ritchard Trevithick invented the first steamed power locomotives. Before this the closest things to trains were horse drawn cariges. With the invention of the steam powered locomotive raw goods were able to travel alot farther and faster than horse drawn cariges could ever go. Also the roads also slowed down the cariges but the new rail road didn't slow the locomotive down at all. This allowed all types of goos to be shipped throughout the u.s. in an expanding time. They also took passengers farther west than carriages and walking could take somebody. This allowed for the us to expand westward and in my opinion the best thing that came from the industrial revolution.
